These things are getting cheaper. What says any of you about them? Looking at a .40 and goes for about $510.

Anyone own one and love it? Hate it? Is a p226, p229, p220 worth the extra 300-500?

I have a sig .40 compact p220 I believe. Got night sights put-on it. Hogue grips.
Love it. For such a short barrel it very accurate.

I should tell you I am a big sig lover. Besides my personal 40. I also own the same 40 a 357, and a 45. All sig and brand new in the box never fired.

Is the 250 the one with changeable slides for 2 different calibers?
I own quite a few guns but those are my favorite

Well, it's sort a apples/oranges. The P250 is double action only which I would never own since I'm not a cop or in the military. Just not something I like. Many people do. Just wanted to point out that rather significant difference.

I am pretty sure the p250 (like the SigPro 2022) is a polymer frame, explaining the cheaper price.

I have a P226 in 9mm, and it is the sweetest shooting pistol I've ever handled (I am a bit biased though). Although, my Grandpa's WW2 Singer Sewing machine manufactured 1911 is pretty badass too.

I owned a Glock 19 in .40 caliber prior to the Sig, and it just didn't compare, to me, in accuracy and handling.

Very happy with the P226.

What did you pay? $800.00?

I knew it was a polymer pistol. Just wondered how big of a difference it was? Did the extra weight of the others mentioned make them "smoother" to the shooters hand?

I have finally bought a pistol and can see myself owning maybe 2 more.

I bought it used for $600. I think the weight of the P226 does have a lot to do with what I consider being smooth, compared to the glock.

Something about the glock frame didn't sit right for me, and my accuracy suffered because of it.

My buddy has the P229, and it's sweet chooting too.

NO I REFUSE!!!

I have watches, golf, and a pool. Those consume enough of my cash. I don't want to be "gun guy." I will never be a hunter. Was in high school. I can sit in the woods and hang out and drink beer with friends, but not a big hunter.

Sorry you can't stop it now, you have been bitten.

Very few of my guns would I or do I hunt with.

My Grandfather use to tell me all a man needs to put food on the table is a .22 / a deer rifle /and a shotgun.

I enjoy shooting and I enjoy collecting. And one day it will hopefully be something nice to hand down to my grandkids.

TT, I missed out on that p238... I've been working nights and the guy ended up selling it before I could meet up with him.

I am. I'll probably bite the bullet and just go buy it new at lafayette shooters, Every academy in the state is sold out.. I think they may have stopped carrying them for some reason.

I went by two Acadmeys yesterday and I was shocked to see how low the inventory of pistols was.

The quality of their handguns as dropped big time IMO... The only .380's they carried were the LCP, bersa, and "diamondback" (whatever the shite that is)....

Without a doubt. Those weapons are in a class of their own. The p250 is a good gun however. I looked at them, got the sig pro 2022 instead. I didn't like how the p250 only had a double action trigger pull, be it a very good trigger pull, but I still prefer the options. If you want a sig in the p250 price range, look at the 2022, very very underrated polymer pistol.
