Madison. Turkeys in any direction. Duck hunting an hour away. Good deer hunting. Ross Barnett within minutes.

It's easy really.

People from Lafayette/Shreveport invade MS during deer season.

People from Lafayette invade MS during turkey season.

People from Birmingham invade MS during duck season.

People from everywhere invade MS during Crappie/WP/Sac season.

So why wouldn't the answer be Madison.

A good duck blind will run you upwards around 10k a year within an hour of lafayette.

Big Lake has good saltwater fishing

avoyelles parish has great deer but you're talking big money

Shreveport by far. You can go an hour east and be in the Jackson/Bienville area that is loaded up with turkeys or south towards Natchitoches or north toward AR. All good turkey hunting. Fishing wise you can be at two of the best lakes in the country; caddo in 30 min and Toledo in an hour. Deer hunting is great in all directions. Duck hunting kinda hit or miss. Best bet would be Texarkana or near Bradley, AR. Both an hour away.

This is a LA based board so most people are going to choose LA cities, but if I was asked if I'd rather hunt bucks on the Big Black, turkeys in the Claiborne County Hills, ducks in Leflore Co. brakes, or Crappie in Grenada Lake..... I'd turn down Louisiana and Alabama everyday. Most Cajuns would too.

And all of those places are within an hour drive of Madison/Gluckstadt.

Natchez would be the winner, all the sports you listed are better than all listed cities, and it is closer to the marsh less Laffy.

If I was looking at straight up hunting and fishing activities, West Monroe is pretty easily the best place I have ever lived.

Madison is by far the nicest town I have lived in and, as Sparetime says, has better access to those activities than most places.

Don't be, they just don't know of what they speak.

Unless you are talking about saltwater fishing the answer to the question is Jackson/Madison.

Except Shreveport is a little over an hour or closer from Toledo Bend, Sam Rayburn, Caddo, Red River Pools etc.

Boating: I imagine you can find places to boat around any of them

Alabama has the most navigable water in the country, and the majority of it is within 90 minutes of B'ham or less. So I would say Birmingham wins that.

This is highly doubtful unless one finds a way to add far to many qualifiers.

In Alabama, Id probably pick Mobile over Birmingham if boating and fishing are at the top. There's also great turkey hunting nearby, good deer hunting, and you can actually kill ducks there. But you can also be in the Louisiana marsh in 1.5 hrs.
