The 10yr old kids brings up an interesting point. What if you're being robbed by a midget, or a gang of midgets, do you have the right to shoot them? Would you be in imminent danger?
It appears that according to the law, you have the right to shoot anyone who is you house unauthorized.

Are they armed midgets? I would think a tribe of midgets with spears could take a lion.

LNCHBOX you seem to have serious difficulties with projection.
You continue to project posters statements that they feel or know it is in their respective legal and moral rights to perform a certain action and that in their opinion they could perform said action as an inevitable unavoidable non-cogniscant action-reaction reflex.
The taking of any life animal or human is a very complex and serious action that requires proper considration. No person should touch a trigger if they do not have respect for the fact that they are taking a life. That being said, there are many times when lethal actions are justified.

What do you mean by project?

Dude, frick off. No one is forcing you to read me and BP's back and forth.
I'd like to understand where he's coming from. If you don't like it, stay out of the thread.

I'd like that for you too. Maybe you could ask for some common sense for Christmas.

Right, because I don't agree with you I just don't have common sense.

No, brah. You just can't grasp anything, like the laws on shooting intruders. I just think you need to take a step back from the keyboard. You're being way too serious right now.

I mean you are taking one statemnent and contorting it to fit a more sinister sounding agenda.

So me getting a clarification on a law now means I can't grasp anything?

My one question, which you've yet to answer, is if you've shot a pet during a hunt.
That is the only sinister agenda as you put it.
I don't think you would actually do that, so I apologize for twisting words.

re: Shooting Dogs (Posted on 12/22/10 at 12:58 p.m. to LNCHBOX)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have not shot a pet on my lease.
Have put several pets down including mine, my wifes, and a neighbors, all by request and with good reason. Wept after all but the neighbors.
Currently have a pair of collared Rots running our lease and caught chasing game on cameras multiple times most often mid week near midnight. Likely hog dogs beign run on our property. Deer movement in the same areas decreases dramatically for 3 days after the dogs run.

I have no reason to do that.

You have asked others leading questions in this thread also like shooting a 10 yr old that "somehow" got into your house in the middle of the night.
MOM:: Pop, what's that sound? (startled from sleep)
POP :I dont know. I'll get up and look.
POP (from the living room) :Dont worry Mom it is just another dang 10 yr old that feel through the wall. Poor thing must be terrified
MOM: that is the third one this month!

How would the law feel about shooting a midget that was breaking into your house? I know that most women would be acquited of killing a man who broke into her house. With a man doing the killing of the perp it gets a little cloudy, huh?

I think BP and Lnchbx are trying to say close to the same thing, but their on different wavelengths and it's getting lost in translation. Both would kill an aggressive dog, both would give owners of pet multiple chances to secure problem animal, the only difference is that Lnchbx said he'd never ever shoot someboies pet that didnt attack him. BP says eventually enough is enough. I just feel like you guys are going round and round over one minor detail.

Demon you basically have it there. Just add that Lnchbx believes there is a conflict with me deciding enough is enough and also being a family doctor and that he feels the need to twist statements like protecting your house with leathal force to gunning down an innocent 10 yr old that happens to "somehow" get into your house in the middle of the night.

Yea, thats where he lost me. I know that if somebody woke me up by breaking into my house in the middle of the night, they'd get a bullet. No question. Kids kill people too.

Intruder in the house will meet me looking down the barrel of my weapon. Wether or not I shoot is dependent on the situation. If they follow instructions and laydown on the floor face first and discard any weapon they may have and they stay there for the 20 min it takes for the police to arrive, then no one gets shot. Otherwise I will have to repaint walls and replace carpet.
ETA: if said intruder is Jessica Biel, Angelina Jolie, ect. then they likely get shot too but I wont brag about the caliber.
