Even if this ditch / creek was public, I doubt you could get far enough from the property lines to legally hunt. Every parish has ordinances that state how far you have to be from a property line to hunt

Should be fine. Just go at night just to be sure.

OP is trolling.
Well, maybe not. This is Louisiana.

Not the undeveloped land. I figured that was owned. I guess what I was looking for was answered as the high water level or whatever.
Do you know what a servitude is?
From your user name I'm guessing you are a real estate agent? Kind of surprised you couldn't figure this out on your own if that is true.

In our parish it’s 50 yards from a property line and 100 yards from center line of the creek if the creek is property boundary.
Keeps people from hanging stands on fence lines and hunting both sides.
Rule applies to stationary hunting positions

Undeveloped land =/= public land

I was gonna say this too. A really handy app to have

You should start with assuming land is private, always.
Posted on 11/6/17 at 4:30 pm to MLSter
All land in Louisiana is assumed private and you must have permission from the owner or you are trespassing.
You could take the chance that no one cares.
Another idea would be to search the tax records and call the owner.

Are you trolling us? Are you really a hunter? How can one be an adult and so uninformed with land issues?
Undeveloped =/= public. I got a couple hundred yards of umdeveloped land. Let me catch you slipping.
