I have a friend of mine whose client ask him and one other person to get in his rice field Blind in Roanoke....
I have hunted there during teal season one time and did decent. But that was my only experience.

Anybody know the ins and outs to hunting there?

Teal and some geese is about all we did. Only hunted geese because the ducks weren't there.

Unfortunately leases don't come with guarantees. Years ago father and I rented a blind in a rice field for $3500.00. One year we killed over 300; another just over 50.

Have hunted a bunch on the Tietje farm 1 mile north of roanoke. Some hunts are terrific. Some aint. Opening weekend is always good. Being able to hunt the fronts always helps. We dont always limit out but we seldom scratch. And there are plenty of bonus speckbellys arounf.

depends on the specific blind that you hunt. excellent goose hunting in that area, too.

All taste like dog food. Especially whitefronts. I donate them to needy families if y'all want to help me out...

Just wanted to know if the area held ducks traditionally or is it a hunt by front kinda place?

It seems not as it once was honestly. With regard to ducks anyway. Like others have said, geese can save scratch days.

Friend still leases there

Teal season was good last year. First split they killed ducks.
Then nothing.

They killed more than any blind leased among 30.

Reasonable expectation is 75 teal and 20 ducks for the season.

If that is the case, I would just hunt public land out there and hope to get invited on hunts.
