Coming back from Grande Isle. Eagle was flying low over the bayou between Golden Meadow and Lockport. Fairly populated area. Over / Under that it is still alive today?

Why wouldn't it still be alive?

Not likely. They're predatory birds = not tastey all that great.

BTW, you saying that is like me saying a white girl drives through the ghetto. Over/under on if she's robbed and murdered yet?

No, that is not what I'm saying, but

Hows this for an analogy. Several La Black bears have been found shot dead in Iberia/St Mary parishes. Why, (a)cause they were there and (b)there are stupid people who would shoot them for no apparent reason. Applies to bald eagles as well....

Anyone who shoots a bald eagle, or any animal for that matter, with not clear reason other than sport ought to have raw chicken tied around their nuts and thrown in a gator pit.

True story.... somewhere.
Two guys are hunting in the woods and for food they shot and killed a spotted owl which was against the law. The game warden pulled up on them as they were cooking the owl on a bbq pit and told them that it was against the law to kill a spotted owl. He arrested them and when they went before the judge, they told the Judge that they were stranded in the woods and hadn't eaten for days so they killed the owl to eat and survive. The judge believed their story and released the men back to society with all charges being dropped because of the Judges' sympathy. When the Judge asked one of the men what the spotted owl taste like, the men both answered; "a little bit like bald eagle." The judge did not laugh.

The last few years I have seen more and more around Toledo Bend and Sabine River.
Watched one at Toledo scoop up what looked like a 4 lb Bass...It was amazing.

I see at least one bald eagle everytime I go to the Morgan City area to fish. I am always astonished how beautiful these birds are.

I used to live around that area, and I would normally see a few flying up and down the bayou. It's a pretty cool when you see them catching a fish
