Using this website LINK , a 20 grain 17 caliber bullet will drift 2" at 100 yds w/ a 10 mph crosswind. Only you can know if that's too much for you or ok. Of course, seems like the wind is never constant, but instead is always gusting. That just complicates it more. Yeah, the WSM won't be as prone to the wind as the HMR, but I'll bet it's still pretty tricky. I don't know about you, but I have VERY hard time waiting for the wind to die down to shoot by the time I get to go shooting.

BTW, if you want to run different trajectories w/ the site, you'll also need the ballistic coefficient (0.185 for 20 grain 17 V-Max bullet).

I really really hate that design. If I would have put a sling on mine and put it across my back before purchase I would have set it back on the shelf. There is no good way to carry it.
