Wanted to share since Seafoam tends to be a hot topic here at times...and bc this is the first time I've done it and got a smoke show

Whether it works or not, it's still kind of fun.

It hardened my pcv hose and had to replace it. I've heard about moisture lock as well, but it's fun.

2011 Ram, hmm.

Was that smoke before or after the Sea Foam?

That smoke was from after.

Before it was billowing black smoke from under the hood...normal though...stupid Ram. I'm on my 9th transmission and 15th dashboard too.

it is basically a detergent

cleans carbon buildup in the intake
cleans fuel injectors
removes sludge from oiling system

Definitely.

I like to use Seamfoam before I do my oil change. That way all the carbon buildup falls through the cylinder rings and into the oil pan. Then when I drain the oil all that shite comes out.

So you actually notice a difference when using it

Supposed to. I haven't driven it anywhere yet today, but I'll post if I noticed any difference in performance or mpg's.

Use Seafoam in all my small yard engines and Jetskis for seasonal maintenance. I stick to quality fuel and synthetic oil in my trucks.

Same here.

Truck gets Pennzoil Platinum 5w-20 every 5000 miles.

I also installed an oil catch can not long ago to keep some of the blow by out the intake (which is probably the reason for the smokeshow today).

Can you elaborate on this? I've heard about it but I'm still unsure what it is.

Not sure if all vehicles have a PCV (at least not like the ones on the hemi engines), but the crankcase is ventilated to the intake manifold just behind the throttle body or toward the back of the manifold and oil blows through there and into your intake/engine. Mine is made specifically for Ram trucks out of billet...here is what it looks like installed:

Here is what it looked like after a thousand miles or so:

It's normally filled a little less than half after 3000 or so miles of driving. So basically, all that's in the canister would have gone through the intake and into the combustion chambers if not for the catch can.
