Any one here have experience with this gun? I know you guys like the Tikka, but is the A7 worth the extra money. Fluted barrel, aluminum bedding block, supposedly better trigger and better composite stock. I have no Sako or Tikka experience.
Thanks guys.

Nope. Go Tikka unless you want a Sako 85.

Go Sako worth the extra. I have both and prefer the Sako A7. With that being said I only paid $75 to $100 more for my A7.

I don't know that I believe that. I'm with chat. A7 seems too close to a tikka for an extra $400-500.
85 is a sweet gun though.

I freak in love my tikka, so I'm quite biased.

Eta- if you find an A7 for an extra $100, might as well go that route.

at $1098 retail, the A7 is one of the best buys out there. It's worth it for the Roughtech stock, the polished action, and the 5 shot MOA guarantee. I only wish that they had included the steel DBM as opposed to the Tikka's polymer mag.

This. Also, I wish it was flush like the 85 and I also wish the bolt shroud wasnt plastic.

Bought it at Cabela's in Gonzales for $675 to $700. Think I paid $600 to $650 for my tikka t3 Hunter but that was 8 years ago. Sako I bought the last 18 months.

Well if you got it for that much, then it is worth it. I would say under $800 and it would be worth the extra. Past that I would say go Tikka or get the 85.

No brand new. I'm really good at buying guns at big box stores for a steal. Bought one of those Remington 700 heavy barrel mossy oak brush country with scope for $375 or $400 and passed on a beretta sliver mallard for $500 off. Also picked up a Springfield range officer 1911 for $599 at academy that was $900.

They screwed up pricing then. If it was that cheap normally, no one would buy a Tikka.

Just found my receipt and it was $699.88 but was in December of 2012. Time is flying by cause I would have bet I haven't had that over 2 years. There were several of them on the rack outside the gun library and they all had the New sticker on them. I did watch them for 6 months go from around $1000 down to when I bought mine.

Forgot another good Walamart purchase last year when I got an AR for $350.

No I spend way to much time going into every place that sells guns I keep waiting to find a deal on a Nemo Arms in .300 win mag.

They are fine guns for sure. However, they are priced too high imo. For that kind of money, I would rather buy a Blaser and own one of the best hunting rifles known to man.

Stainless and synthetic .30-06? If so I bought your gun's brother.

There were 3, I went back to get another one a week later and they were gone.

That's them. I saw the 30.06 and went with .243 because I had a t3 in .308. Did you get yours for the same price?

I do find good deals.
