<----- I hit this buck with my 2003 Yukon Monday December 19th on hwy 30 in Saint Gabriel. It has 17-19 points (a few were knocked off in the wreck)and I was told it weighed around 230# When I asked the officer on duty if I could take the deer his answer was "no,dept of wildlife and fisheries has been called" But thanks to the world wide web and social networking we later found out the officer actually called his brother-in-law to come out and get it. After my husband went multiple rounds with the officer and the police chief they finally admitted only that dwf was never actually called "but they left the deer on the side of the road to go on a 911 call and when they came back..it was gone" How completely shitty is that! Like I said, thanks to social networking..we did get the skull back and I have a picture of the brother-in-law and his daughter posing with this deer like they just climed out of the stand from shooting it.

Another "green jeans" story. Theis should have been brought to the OB the night it happened...

ETA - glad you got it back...

Wow. How can someone even be proud of something like that? I've never understood that. I would get enjoyment out of a trophy that wasn't mine.

But you would be happy if you hit it with your truck, right?

Pics?

Can you post a larger pic of your avatar, too? TIA.

That is terrible. I'm glad you got the skull back; you could have gotten nothing at all.

Hopefully they don't read this board or you might have a few traffic tickets in your future. If they can lie like that they can write fake tickets for sure...

It would be more of having something to show for my demolished front end than a trophy. In that case I wouldn't really be proud of it, but at least I had something to do with killing it. I'm pretty sure there's no way I'd mount a deer I hit with a truck, Just would probably take the antlers and stick em somewhere as a conversation starter.

It would be a cool keep sake for fricking up your truck. I'd say they have more right to keep it than some dipshit officer.

I would keep the rack for rattling purposes.

Am I reading this correctly- you obliterated a deer with your Chevy and wanted a souvenir?

We need pics of you with or without the deer. For verification reasons, of course

You'd have gotten it back quicker had you brought it to the OB right away. That's a great story. Welcome to the OB

Um if a sick looking atypical fricked up the front of my vehicle I'd want the rack too. And the meat.
