Once a bass reaches the 3 lbs mark, it has a real chance at becoming a lunker. It’s mouth is big enough to where it has a lot more potential forage. They have reached that size either by luck, or by being more aggressive and smarter than most fish. So it’s good to let them pass those traits on while continuing to grow.
