My folks are coming down this fall and were planning to bring their RV. What are some decent places within a 30-60 minute drive of Baton Rouge? I have found some places on Google, just hoping that some might have first-hand experiences.

Livingston has Lakeview or Lakeside or something like that. About a mile south of i-10 on hwy 63. When my bos had his camper down he kept it there...

Yeah, they were thinking of that one. It looks pretty decent.

In Louisiana, it's best to stick to the state parks. Most of the private RV parks near Baton Rouge seem to have an element of trash b/c they have many permanent residents.

LA STATE PARKS
Tickfaw State Park is only 30 minutes outside of Baton Rouge in Springfield.
There's also that luxury park on the other side of the river, Cajun Palms

Koa in Denham is where the in-laws stay. There are some spots on the river in Port Vincent too.

I got this feeling from reviews I read. I told them to look into Tickfaw and hope they do.

didn't enjoy the KOA in Denham...

Farr park is real close to campus if they are just comimng in for a short stay...

if they require premium accommodations, then there is one further south

Farr Park is where the kids and I stay for all the weekend series baseball games...It's never crowded and you usually see a few high end motor homes and a few families camping with their kids for travel ball tournaments...

The only worried experience we had was when the circus was at the BR Centroplex...they all camped at Farr Park...

my kids insisted on sleeping with pocket knives under their pillows...

we camped from the day before regionals to the day after the supers without an issue...

the price is reasonable @ $20 night...it's not to far from Lauberge if the casinos are their thing...

My folks do love them some KOA. Problem is my dad read reviews in the one in Denham and someone said there were homeless people there and feces in the shower. He can't get past the feces part in particular.

I second Farr park.

It doesn't have anything fancy, but it has hook ups and a pretty decent bath house. It's also quiet and rarely crowded on anything other than a football weekend or big baseball weekend.

There seem to be some "permanent campers" there.
They also open the pool to the local DS public for a few dollars.
