Well they dont make 1911s anymore, and they are worth a crap ton more than 500.

Don't think I'm going to pass on it. It scratches my 1911 itch for now. Hopefully I don't become like KR and have a 1911 in every drawer in the house.

Looks like a rock island not to be confused with a Rock river(they stopped producing 1911s about 8 yrs ago and they were 2k and up)
It's defiinitley a rock island, I can see the emblem near the muzzle and rock river did not use GI sights.

You could get rock island 1911's around Christmas for $300... And they weren't green.

The brown grip makes it look a lot better... Idk I'f it's the lighting making it look so light green but if it doesn't look closer to the one in the pic then idk.
Rock island is substantially cheaper than Rock river arms. For around $500 you can get a better 1911. Save if you need to and get something you really want.
I'm not trying to shite on that gun, although it looks like someone did (sorry, had to), I'm giving you sound advice. You can find a better 1911 with that $.
Tell him you know it's a RIA and ask for a better price. Chances are he already tried to sell it and was disappointed with his results.

Sound advice. I'm really new to the realm of 1911's. I do want one. When he said RRA, I became interested at that price.
