Ran out to four horse lake in Delacroix Saturday and slammed the trout. The bite stopped so I made my way towards the pencil canal trying different spots with Carolina rigged shrimp but no bites. Just bad luck or should I use a different spot or technique. Going again in the morning.

If you were over there, you only needed to go a few hundred yards for redfish. Spoons are goood there because of all of the grass

live/dead shrimp 1.5 or 2 feet under a popping cork, or carolina rigged.

Just get it right up against the shoreline.

spoons are good too.

If you can't catch with live bait I don't know what to tell you.

Yup.... fish for reds almost exclusively with a gold spoon down there. Very rarely do we scratch. Find some clean, moving water in the ponds or along the banks of the bays. Can be caught in 4 horse, Amedee etc etc...

Its not cold enough to be fishing reds on the canal bottoms. Burn that shoreline with spoons/spinnerbaits/chatterbaits and you will catch redfish. Only a matter time if you commit to doing it.
