Y'all talking about the telephone pole hole? I've fished specks in the winter there a ton from my paddle craft, never an issue.

I'm referring to that general area. I know that spot, but don't think I have actually ever fished it.

Highway 1 between Fourchon and Grand Isle
Highway 23 around Port Sulphur. Look for Grand Bayou Rd on the map. Turn onto the road and it'll take you over the levee and have plenty spots to drop kayak in the water
Point Aux Chene WMA, launch from Island Rd

Reds from the yak are a blast. Wear shoes at all times and I don't throw trebles at night. I've broken those rules one time, and this happened.

How the hell that happen? Put the pole down with treble by your foot and hooked yourself when you tried picking the pole up?

A speck that I thought had calmed down. Brought my feet back inside the yak and that bastard had one more good flop
For a minute he was attached to the front treble. That was fun.

There are plenty of places around New Orleans and also the Houma area to kayak fish. Especially the Empire Magnolia area. Launch at Joshua's and hit the broken marsh to the left first thing in the morning as the sun is coming up. I seen someone pick up a limit in the first 15mins of fishing.
