I enjoy fishing although I have no idea what I'm doing. Girlfriend got me a two person perception kayak last spring. I'm sure it isn't an ideal fishing kayak, but 1 is it feasible to fish from it and two where is a good location to fish for reds from a kayak.

I have caught a bunch of redfish in my kayak and it is a blast. However, two people fishing in a kayak would be grounds for a murder. Somebody's gonna get hooked.

I fish in Florida, so somebody else can suggest a location.

Where are you located? They have some nice spots by jazz land. One is called the Pen. They also have a hot water canal in paddling distance that's produced some nice fish this time of the year.

Make sure you both throw top water lures with treble hooks.

Where are you located and how far do you want to drive?

First line is a joke. Don't do that.

While I love the fight of a red on a topwater, have to think if I hooked my SO it would be much more of a fight.

Delacroix or golden meadow would be the easiest places to catch red from a yak right now

Go see Eddie down in Pointe Aux Chenes at PAC Kayak Rentals. He's at the end of Pawpaw Ct. He's got a great kayak only launch and can point you in the direction of some fish when you get down there. I can't think of a better "first time" spot than there. You won't have to worry about holding up a boat ramp when launching. He sells ice, live and artificial bait. $5 to launch per kayak.

I fish almost exclusively out of a kayak these days and I can't imagine anything worse than having another person in one with me. Maybe, toothpicks under the fingernails...

I would go first few times where you wont run into a terrible amount of boaters. PAC in winter is probably that place.

Dont listen to the haters. I had tandem kayak that was awesome. I took family and friends out who were inexperienced. My wife became very good and would outfish me.

Contrary to what everyone will tell you, you dont need two people paddling in a tandem. 2 people have fished out of small unstable paddle craft for hundreds maybe thousands of years. It is nothing new.

The only reason I dont have mine anymore is storage space because the fleet grew.

I know people fishing the pits south of Fourchon frequently and recently, and they have never been hassled by the law. The land is private and there was talk of the owner having people arrested for trespassing a couple of years ago, but that is not happening now.

Unless you know something I don't know.

Yeah, I have kayak fished that area a lot and never had a problem? Have we just been lucky as hell? I remember hearing about some legal issues, but we never had any troubles.
