Can anyone recommend a charter service in St. Bernard that is close to a sure thing for a redfish limit? I've fished with a couple charters over the years, but they seemed more trout- oriented since that is what most people want to fish. One captain was very anti-trolling motor and never had one on his boat. I'd love to take my son, and wouldn't mind throwing a few trout in the box to fill the freezer, but mainly I'd like to focus on limiting on reds. Any suggestions?

Doubled Up Guide Service with captain Michael Sterns. He seems to have a limit of reds every time he goes out.

One of the easiest places to fish for reds. It's crazy the guides down there stay in business.

Seems like that's exactly why they would stay in business. I imagine most people that take a charter either don't have a boat or are not from the area (don't have a boat with there). If I were taking a charter, a guaranteed limit sounds good.

Bayou Charters( Capt. Charlie)
Sweetwater in Delacroix ( capt Jack Payne)
Capt Dude (Dudenhofer ) I haven't fished with him but a really nice guy and friends speak highly of him. His place is right next to Thomason's Bayou Charter.
I also agree that Charlie's is probably the best as far as getting on the reds. They seem to want to fish more for reds than trout but they are truly good guides. Joe Hinton and Bourgeois are top notch.

How was the camp with the kids this weekend?

Got the gutter system measured and ordered. Should be delivered in about two weeks. Steady progress!

Capt Jack has been catching a lot of reds lately. I would try him.

I spend money with Charlie but he puts me on whatever I need to catch. I've fished with him in 20 degree weather and limited out on trout in February. He's legit!
