You get decent wet road traction?

I do. Believe it or not, my SSRs never once hydroplaned on the road. Better wet weather traction that the other mud terrains that I've owned. Only drawbacks are them being very loud, and they only lasted 40k on my Tacoma

Did you mean that you WOULD run an M/T tire in a light Tacoma? Sounds like you were setting up to say you wouldn't.

Yes, I would run a mud tire. . I ran Tacomas in the early 2000's and always ran Super Swampers on them, they would last forever due to the Tacoma being so light. If I was still running a Tacoma, I would definitely be running the Kumho M/T, they ride like an A/T tire and perform as good as or better than mild Super Swampers in the mud.

I love the look and traction of the BFG AT's but tread life was marginal at best in my experience. I replaced them last with I think a set of Rocky Mountain AT's

A set I had on my old Tacoma went 75k on that truck and then another 10k on a F150

If you rotate them every 5K there is no way you shouldn't get 50K out of BFG AT's. I got at least 40K on the MT's and I was running year round on some hot arse Summertime pavements.

They do suck in mud. I just bought a new Tundra and the BFG AT's came with the truck. I think now that I have them I am just going to keep them for my Summer tires and buy a set of mud tires in the Fall. Thinking about either the BFG MT's or the Nitto Mud Grapplers.

Any body have any intell on the Nitto mud tires?

I'm keeping my stock set and I think maybe I should get something more capable on my FJ steelies. I can swap them easily, so maybe MTs would be better. Ugh, tough decision since it's a spendy purchase.

STAY AWAY FROM MUD GRAPPLERS. Loudest and roughest tire ever.
I used to mud ride with a few guys who tried the Mud Grapplers. They hated them on the street.

I'd go trail grapps before mud grapps, unless you want the inside of your car to sound like a 747

I just rotated all 5 this weekend. Every 3000 miles. That is twice a year for me. The weather was nice which helped.

I rotated between 8 and 10 on that last set - got about 35K out of them on my F250.

That said, my dad has had a set on his farm truck for almost 10 years it seems like with no noticable wear. Prob only has 20K miles on it i nthat time period though

I thought so. I got 4 275/60/20 tires for $900, give or take. Mounted and balanced.
