Reason for Gun Price Drop?

So I've been pistol shopping for a little while and a Walther PDP is on my short list.
I recently noticed a $50 reduced sale price.

Since I'm not a regular shopper I'm curious if this usually means there's a new and improved version coming out. Or is it a sale just because?

Where did said price drop happen? At a local gun store? Online?

I doubt its a new model as that would have likely been announced at shot show in Feb. If they announced something I didn't see it but I have not looked nor researched that.

I think it's more of a function that people have less money to spend on "luxury items" right now.

Manufacturers and distributors run specials to get rid of inventory. Happens all the time.

Walther isn't releasing new guns like some of these other manufactures who "upgrade" every year. Even if a "new and improved" gun comes out if you like this one what does it matter???

ATF killed that guy who was buying up all the inventory and selling it. So now the big buyer isn't there the prices go down.

Pure conjecture apropos of nothing but it could be that everything else costing so damn much fewer people have the disposable income to spend on "hobbies". Again, pure conjecture but it makes some sense....
