My buddy is coming down from North Carolina for the weekend and wanted to test out my tandem kayak. Any one know of any reports or hot spots right now? Trying to go Saturday morning but I can't go to far because I have work at 5:00. Thanks

Just touring? I'd go to either Tickfaw State Park or Fausse Point SP.

If you start early, 5:00pm is perfect for a morning run to just about anywhere 2-2:30 like PAC, Basons, Golden Meadow, Leeville, etc.

Im headed down LA 1 on Sunday in my yak.

Either or really. Just trying to entertain an old friend.

The basin is the closest. Kerns is a good kayak friendly launch with good spots close. Butte la Rose is okay too, but a little further paddle to good fishing.
