Pros and cons of leathered granite

Wife and I are thinking about putting a leathered granite in our kitchen. Any reason not to?

Pro, you have granite.
Con, it's ugly as shite.
Well, the only leathered granite i've ever seen was ugly as shite. I'm sure they have some nice examples out there though. be a baller and go with formica.

We just got ours installed in the new house. Can let you know of pros cons as time goes on. I love the look of it. Doesn't seem like cleaning it would be any more difficult than regular granite. I don't understand that but perhaps I will.
