The OB loves the Tacoma, so I know there will be a lot of pros, so let's hear them

It's the double cab, 6 foot bed, 120K miles. Asking $14,500.

I took a quick look at it and it seems pretty clean. Have not driven it yet, most probably do that tomorrow. Before I bought it I would run a Carfax on it and bring it to my mechanic to check out.

The seller is a used car dealer that I have been friends with since high school. He wasn't there today when I stopped to take a quick look at it.

I feel a little uneasy buying a vehicle with that many miles, but everyone I know that has a Tacoma or 4runner tells me that 120K miles is not a major concern.

Any cons? Let's hear 'em.

Get your buddy to give you as much history that he has on vehicle, call previous owner, etc.

120k on an 8 year vehicle is pretty low, really low.

Get it checked out, but, sounds like a deal?

Probably a good deal. Looked at those a year and a half ago for my son. Ended up buying a '07 4RUNNER for $13,500 and love it. Couldn't find an ''07/08 Tacoma for less than $17k

Well, I respectfully disagree. The book deducts for anything over 12K per year.

That said, $14500 is not way out for an 08 Tacoma.

I'm personally not a fan, due a short wheelbase having a bouncer ride, but the fill the bill for some folks.

Tacomas are like the Rolexes of the truck world.

OG most probably has 3-4 just for his gardeners and so forth.

DC, there's really nothing bad to say. If the history is clean and you enjoy the ride buy it. I'm still a fairly young man at 31 so the smoothness of a ride really doesn't bother me much. I notice it but it wouldn't affect my decision. Idt you'll find a more reliable truck

Don't take a car fax for more than the paper it's written on. Ask your friend where he bought it from, is he aware of any major damage in it's history, and if he's had to do any repairs on it since purchase. Sounds like a really solid buy for a good price to me. Good luck.

In my opinion, anything Toyota 04 and older is literally built like a bomb shelter. Just get in it and ride it out, it'll hold up.

Pros and cons of buying a 2008 Tacoma

Pros - bullet proof trucks
Cons - resale is highest of any truck, so they aren't cheap to buy even used

I bought a '08 Taco for my son's first truck last year for $18K. Only had 90K. He's gonna drive it till he goes to college next year and then he will get my '14 Tundra. Hope I can get a good trade with it for a new Tundra.

Last month I got rid of my f150 and bought a 2011 taco. Sr5 double cab with 30k miles. Loving it.

Will always miss my raptor but I wasn't offroading in it last few years and was getting up in miles. Looking for an old jeep or muscle car now for a toy. Leaning towards a 70 nova with a 350 in it for 13k

Little high for a prerunner i think. If it were 4wd that would be a good price
