Left to go fishing this morning and my motor overheated. Realized the jack plate was all the way up and the motor was not picking up enough water. I'm 90% sure the problem is with the actuator and not electrical or the relays. Do any of you know how I can relieve the hydraulic pressure to get the jack plate down. Any assistance that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

You can bypass the relay pack to lower the motor but it seems you have already ruled that out. I had one years ago that got stuck from low fluid. Also been on a boat that had one get stuck and the old tap with a hammer method worked. Do you have a picture of the unit? I suppose you could always just put a jack on the motor and pull the high pressure line, could be fun?

You can bleed out the return line at either end and put a jack stand under it at the height you want. Refill once you have it at height. I've done this.
As for why, I don't know. Fluid isn't draining or the jackplate ram is stuck. Im leaning towards that it is stuck. Tap on it with a rubber mallet or something.

Barf and Seapickle This is a self contained unit and I don't see where I can bleed off the pressure.

Mine isn't self contained so yours may be different. If you do not have two lines from pump to hydro ram then on the unit somewhere should be some sort of bleed off valve for times like this. Google your unit and see.
My pump is in the boat and ram is on the jack plate. Send and return lines. Just unscrew the return line and ram falls.
