Need to do about 900 yards of fencing. Ideally, want to do t-post with barbed wire for cattle. The labor will be free nc someone owes me a favor and will lend me their farm hands.
How much is this going to set me back?

Do the math on materials needed and look up current prices at local stores?? Not sure why you're asking a message board for material takeoff and cost estimate.

read this article on cattle fencing
Livestock fencing supplies and pricing
Price will be determined if you go (a) electric, and (b) with 3-strand or 5-strand fencing. 900 yds. = 2,700 feet. 3-strand = 8,100 ft. ; 5-strand = 13,500 ft.
(1) 1,320 ft. 12-1/2 Gauge 4-Point Class I Barbed Wire ... $129.00 per roll. Do your research and homework to confirm pricing. TSC, local Farmers co-op, or a feed store should have what you need. Make sure your corner posts are done correctly. A 10 ft 8" diameter treated post is ideal.
If you're getting free labor, you better make sure these laborers know what they're doing, and are experienced in cattle fencing. Otherwise, you'll be wasting money and having to come back and make repairs to their mistakes.
This isn't going anywhere

Ugh. This just reminds one of how much I’m about to spend. I have to put in 2,500 feet. 1,300 is through the woods and will be 5 strand barbed, but 1,200 feet is going to be the 2x4 non climb horse fence that is going for $514 per 200ft.

About 5 grand.

Dude, those 200’ rolls are unbelievably heavy. Unless I had an attachment on the tractor to unroll them, I would rather buy the 100 footers. But I’m old.

Don’t know if you are actually putting horses on it, but I’ve had Electrobraid fences for almost 20 years with no problems. Highly recommend a poly rope type electric fence for equine service. Simple solar charger has kept mares, geldings, and mare/foal pairs contained. Kept a few stray stallions at bay as well. Has to be cheaper than what you’re looking at.
