What I'm saying is the Ozark ones I've seen aren't that big. The ones out west are enormous in comparison.

Typically the ones seen in daylight by humans in areas where they aren't established are smaller, very young lions who have been forced out by a mature one. They're looking for a territory, and usually are half starved and much more bold/stupid. It's supposedly a big issue in parts of California where they are making a comeback.

The one I saw wasn't big. Maybe 60-70 lbs. looked about the size of my sisters pit bull.

All I had was a buck knife and a fly rod. I agree it didn't look like ones I see on tv from out west.

What do you do? Expect to walk around with a 30x zoom camera or get within 20yds? It's uncommon for me to carry a phone, I'm lucky I got anything.

Surely the original photo is bigger than 640x480 pixels. That's only .3 megapixels. Did you upload the original photo?

I saw on when I was in college on the Natchez trace in East Tennessee. It was getting dark and we just past a huge herd of deer and we see this big dog very leisurely crossing the road in front of us. So we have to stop and realize as we get about 75 yards away it is not a dog at all as you see those shoulders jut up and down like a lion. it just looked at us like WTF are u doing here and keep tracking whatever deer it was about to eat.

It was big, 150-200 pounds.
