This may be a stupid question but what is a "take off" tire?
Are you talking about used tires?

When someone buys a truck and immediately gets new rims and tires on it. They sell the stock ones as take offs.
Technically used. But usually only have maybe a few hundred miles on them

factory tires are not of the same quality as the ones you can purchase for yourself.

It's been my experience that factory tires last longer. I bout some take offs from a Chevy 2500 and currently have 54000 miles on them and about 1/2 the tread left. I'm currently looking for another set. I paid $400 cash for four 10 ply 20" tires with 50 miles on them.

The tires you purchase for yourself don't come from a factory?

Several men that I work with have bought new tires and rims from the GMC dealer in New Roads. The tires and rims came off new vehicles where the purchaser upgraded to bigger rims and off road tires.

Um. Mj2, you do know that all factory tires come from the factory right?
