Trying to kill some flees in my yard. I have Permethrin 10%. It says mix 1.5oz per 10 gallons of water for 1000sf.
My yard is roughly 6500sf. That would be 9.75oz of Permethrin. If if mix those 9.75oz over only 20 gallons of water (instead of 65 gallons), would that have the same effect or am I wasting my time with the 2 gallon sprayer?
All I have is a 2 gallon sprayer and don't want to fill that thing up 30 times.

Do you have a hose end sprayer (like Ortho)?

Fill it up and put it on the lowest setting.

I bought the gallon jug of the stuff since it will take multiple treatments. They had the Permethrin hose end sprayer but didn't bother with it since I had the 2 gallon at home already.
I guess I could refill the hose sprayer with the gallon.
It's going to cost me $100 to kill these damn fleas

Manufacturers provide you with a ratio for a reason - I would stick to it. Last thing you want to do is kill every living animal that may go in that area.

Mix it no more than 1 1/2 strength. But you may want to go up to the 36% concentrate, and also add a development growth inhibitor. Then do it again in a week, then again.

Fleas are tough, you will need to spray every 5 days for 3-4 weeks. I would mix in some Taurus SC (Fipronil) which has a longer residual than permethrin. Taurus will also keep your yard free of fire ants for about 6-9 mths. Just my 2 cents. Good luck buddy, hope u smoke them.

Had to be all the rabbits that come in the yard. There is 75 acres behind me that was canefield but sold to be developed. That fell through so it's just overgrown field. Rabbit and coyote population is blowing up.

Never mix a concentrate stronger than what it says to on the label. In the end, you're only wasting your product and your money. For fleas however, I've found Bifen is the best toward that. Taurus is a great product, but way too expensive for what you are doing. Bifen will also help greatly with ants.

And that's why it's sometimes easier to go with a company to spray large areas like that. Unless you have a 25+ gal sprayer, it makes it a pain in the arse to refill comstantly.

If you do decide to call someone, give me a try. A run a small company in Raceland. Mike's Pest Control. I'll see if we can help you out with this issue. Good luck.

Hahaha. Yeah it's a really good product. And to he OP, not saying your permethrin won't work, but it is a "knockdown" product and will only last for a few days (maybe just a couple with the amount of rain we've been getting). Bifen should give you a couple to a few weeks of protection. Also, you can buy this in granular form so it can be broadcasted around your yard that way. It's a little less effective that way but does still work.

Coyillon, are you in the industry?
