Paging people with a Sitka duck oven jacket

I know it's the insulation for the wading jacket, but can it withstand the abuse if used as an outer layer if not wearing the delta wading jacket with it?

Short answer is no.
If you're strictly hopping out of a boat/buggy and into a blind, then yes.
I always recommend buying the duck oven with a tough but cheaper shell. It's warmth/packability is worth its weight in gold.

Trying to decide between the duck oven or the Dakota pullover. I've got the delta wading jacket on the Christmas list though.

I don't think the duck oven is waterproof. The delta wading jacket is probably their best piece IMO

Definitely not waterproof, it designed to sit under the delta.

I own the duck oven and the boreal. I wore both pieces indivually paired with the mid core half zip pullover, under armor and the bibs and I was really comfortable on all hunts. I wore the boreal for the morning and duck oven in the afternoon.
If you are simply going back and forth to the blind on a 30 degree day the oven would be plenty paired with what I mentioned before. If you are walking through brush and in the rain it will not hold up. With all that said the wading jacket will be my next purchase. I'm very pleased with the results I seen in Canada. Just for a reference it never got above freezing while we were there with the coldest being 17 degrees.

Best waterfowl jacket. A little pricey, but waterproof, blocks the wind and is warm.

On the Sitka site, it says the Delta is backordered until July 2017. yikes

The beretta jacket is the best made piece of fear I've ever bought.
Everything about it works. That and their wool liner are unbeatable imo

Agreed. Most worn piece of clothing I own.

I prefer my Hudson a lot more than the Delta. Its a lot warmer and cut a little longer. The Delta reminds me of the shirts we use to wear under our shoulder pads during football If I were only going to get one I'd get the Dakota Hoody. If two pieces it'd be the hoody and the Hudson. those Hoody's are legit and tougher than most other Sitka pieces. I can wear a UA baselayer shirt, traverse zip t, Dakota vest, and Hudson and I'm plenty good even in the teens

Sitka is flatbill clothing, do you wear flatbills?
Posted on 11/15/16 at 5:38 am to KingRanch
Only when I'm trying to shoot ducks.

Sitka is keep ya butt warm and dry without looking like the Michelin man clothing, do you wear flatbills?
FIFY King. I'll admit I hate their camo or any camo for that matter, but the timber stuff is bearable I guess. But I've found as I've gotten older I hate being cold and wet more and more. I figured as much unneeded stuff as I buy it wouldn't hurt to put some towards some good hunting clothes. Of course it didn't hurt that I bought all of mine at 40-50% off. That put it in the same price range as most any other hunting clothes ya gonna buy. oh and I hate flatbills

Sitka is what you wear when you have a leveled or lifted truck with black wheels

Agreed. Screw being cold and wet. Gore tex is awesome.

Agreed, I wouldn't be looking at it if it wasn't for the discounts/gift cards.
