Getting ready to assemble parts for a maten build, was looking for suggestions on barrel length. I'd like to go no longer than 18", but would prefer 16". Preciate any pointers

Looks like you answered your own question. Get a 16, you won't notice a difference if you are shooting under 300yrds...well you will notice the muzzle blast

16" will be fine out to 800 or so and just as accurate. Won't lose much velocity either vs 18"
