i heard you are supposed to let people urinate on it.
The ammonia in urine makes the stingers quit firing.

Chad just wants to pee on people at any chance he's given.

I sliced the end of my thumb off one morning running traps. I had a brand new bowie knife and had used it to scrap the ice off the 4wheeler seat. I slid my hand down the blade to knock the ice off before I put it back in my sheath. I just taped it up and kept running traps.

Electrical tape has salvaged many of my fishing trips.

quote:You know, I have to admit it didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would. Put mustard on it (BIL said would help) and put my glove back on. If I kept cutting it didn't hurt much (maybe because it was elevated or not thinking about it) but if I stopped it started throbbing.
Ouch
So I kept going and everybody thought I was being a badass. No...just hurt less.

Had a sharp piece of bamboo go through the webbed area between my thumb and finger
Horses water trough was froze one morning and I had a lock blade knife so I started chipping at the ice. Squeezing the handle I pressed the lock button and when I jammed the knife down it closed on my pinkie finger and just about sliced it off

My buddy ran smack arse into a cypress tree doing mach 3 down the Franklin hunting club boat ditch one 20 degree morning. I got ejected and landed head first like a lawn dart into the bank. Resulting injuries were 2 broke toes, a busted nose, multiple scrapes/contustions and a pretty good case of hypothermia.
Dumbass friend of mine broke his femur on the ice field a few months ago. Him and another guy went up there (in winter) without informing anyone and he went into a crevasse. Luckily he was close enough to an ice field research station and the cell tower close to town and was able to get a helicopter to come get him. Second time a chopper had to come pluck him off a mountain in two months.

Whats the bill from a chopper resuce run?

Friend of a friend (sounds made up) rode his four wheeler (alone) through a random, previously unrode field. He rode right off an embankment, fell 10-15ft, and couldn't move. To make matters worse he landed in a fire ant mound. He laid there for roughly 8 hours before the fire department (maybe 200 yards away) heard his screams. Lucky to be so close to the fire department for sure. He ended up in the hospital for a while and is now confined to a wheel chair.
My brother and friend go to Baltimore to see him every year. He now makes a living in motivational speaking and different projects to help with people like him.

About $900. He was only a few miles from town but still in an area that required the use of a chopper. You can access the ice field on foot but it requires climbing some rugged areas.

I'm not sure how old I was but I was fishing with my grandpa on Cross Lake and he set the hook in my cheek. I walked up behind him right as he was going to cast. My mom was pissed

When I was a kid I was fishing with a friend of mine and he hauled off to cast without paying attention to what was behind him (me) and whipped one tine of a treble hook into my left earlobe.
He freaked out so bad that I had to extract the thing myself. He was a mess...wouldn't even come near me, much less get his own damn lure out of my ear.

Was fly fishing up in AR and wind was whiping pretty good. I was using a size 6 weighted wooly booger and on my backcast the wind blew it into me. I ducked but it still caught me in the ear and went all the way through. Cut the line a kept fishing. I cut it the barb off when i got back to the truck.
Nothing else too serious though. Just cuts and bruises.
