We live in an incredible place.

North America has some stunningly beautiful scenery, all within a short flight or drive from most of us.

I should've posted this earlier. Just forgot. This was Thanksgiving morning with the IPhone. If you're wondering, no filter applied.

I had to look that one up, 221 miles from Yosemite down to Mt. Whitney. That would be literally awesome. I hope you do it. If so post the pictures here.

Before we were married, my wife and I stopped here on our way out to Portland. As we were driving into the camping area I told her that the mountains looked like something out of a cartoon; more like bubbles than jagged rock.

Later when we were hiking around we found an information plaque that said the Indians that lived there believed that the mountains were formed by "playful spirits".

I thought that was pretty cool, like I was on the same wavelength with them.

I realize it does not look like much, but its one of my favorite spots in the world. My little slice of heaven, especially during duck season.

You working over there? I was a winter caretaker at a lodge near there one year. A little over 100 miles South of there is the number one on my bucket list. Aniakchak Caldera. Hike in and raft out.
