Went hiking in the forelands of the Mendenhall Glacier today. Lots of kettle ponds in the area. Mixed rain and sun.

To get some idea of scale, here is this waterfall you see behind the ice up close.

Here is one of my only contributions to this, mind for some Breckenridge pics I can dig up...it's a cool pic of a storm rolling through Ft. Walton Beach, FL...took it from the pier of our condo complex.

Went on a hike to the Oyster Dome in Bellingham, WA yesterday. Those are the San Juan Islands in Puget Sound.

The state DNR has public use cabins you can get for anywhere between $20-$60/night. They are building two new ones at Eagle Beach St. Park north of Juneau and I went to check them out. Outside of some interior work (wood stove) this one is almost ready and the wife and I are hoping to be the first ones to use it. Here are some pics of the new cabin.

Had a bonus this morning on the way to launch my boat. Sorry the pic isn't too clear, I must've moved tring to hurry AND be quiet. I couldn't believe how close I got to them in my truck.

Ah man, YOUR pictures are so good AND so beautiful I thought twice about posting mine.

Love the one of your kids fishing. I enjoy seeing parents and kids doing fun things together.

I see SO many kids without parents or parental involvment in their lives in my work and it kills me for them.

Love to take the kids out and do stuff. Took the three year old girl hiking a few weeks ago and she did great, but made me nervous when she got to the edge of the trail, there was a several hundred foot drop. I was surprised at how far she made it.

Spent three days in Haines, AK. Took a ferry from Juneau and attended the S.E. Ak State Fair up there. Lots of folks from the Yukon there as well. Went kayaking, biking. Not enough time to do all I wanted though. Some pics of Haines, my favorite small town in Alaska, maybe the US.

Haines harbor at low tide.

Hordes of college age people camping on the beach. They do this during the fair. They were a lot of fun, and they partied quite hard.

Haines Ferry Term, me in the background. Got there early, and some 90 (born in 21) year old man driving a '58 Cadillac gave me a ride from town. Had planned on walking it.

Haines fishermans memorial

From the fair..White Fang (movie) was filmed here.
