I think Arkansas. Probably more hunters than in KS, so the harvest numbers are probably higher.

Kansas and Okie are good but they have been in a drought for the last few years, so spotty unless you have water. Heard they are wet this year though. South of Memphis area in the Sip is always strong on the green. Clarksdale area. AR is ok, depending on where you hunt. Further up in NE AR is better than Stuttgart area imo. MO is really good but most outfitters are pricey as frick.

This is for wintering states. Canada and NoDak/SoDak hunts are for another thread.

Argentina is my #1, then Canada is #2.

While not states they are out of state and are my choice. If I had to pick a US destination public ground Idaho, can kill 8 greenheads a day and it's highly underrated. My next choice would be the texas panhandle. My reasoning is both are under the radar and don't get the pressure that MS delta/AR gets.

Of course I am in a club in AR and hunt the MS delta a bunch so I guess those are also good.

Nicaragua is a hell of a lot closer and cheaper.

For affordability as well as great hunting, I would go with the refuges in SE Texas. We rarely had a bad hunt out there and I go back as often as possible throughout the season.

I hunt Kansas yearly and although not the best per say, it is pretty damn good.

Go up with an ice chest full of shrimp to use as bribes and you will be able to hunt anywhere you want. We boiled crawfish for them a few years ago and from that point on we have been in like flynn.

Been wanting to make a trip there for awhile. Have heard there is tons of private walkin land you can hunt.

How far west do you hunt? I haven't made a pheasant hunt in Kansas for 2 years due to the drought.

I hunt in Emporia, it's south west of KC and north east of Wichita. My friend up there wants us to go pheasant hunting, but the property that has the pheasant is 4 hours northwest of his house.

Normally you need to get to Hayes to start gettng into any real pheasant numbers. Last time I went I hunted in the NW corner of the state...

Wat? Not gonna kill anything better than what gets slayed in South LA and you have to put up with Texas barneys.

Drought, hail and loss of CRP is hitting the pheasant numbers very hard...
