I see a lot of people talk about the reliability of Yamaha but never much about their four wheelers. What’s the OBs opinion on these two bikes?

I had the Kodiak 700 and loved it. Only reason I sold it was because I lost my deer lease. It has plenty of power.

You can spend more but you won’t find better.

Fixed up a Yamaha 660. Was a freaking beast. Probably wouldn't buy anything else if I wanted another ATV. I was shocked how fast that thing would move.

Out of the box they are the most reliable fourwheeler. By far.

If honda guys want to argue... Fine. They are the most reliable fourwheeler with more than 30 hp.

I own a 2019 Kodiak 700. It's the best bike I have ever owned. It's light, strong, and reliable. I've owned honda which is a great bike just under powered, and can-am which was powerful but staid in the shop.

I owned a Grizzly 450 for several years. Not one problem with that bike. Only reason I sold it is I wanted a side by side, now I have a Rhino.

My kodiak 450 is 17 years old. Bought it new. It’s been a great bike. I have changed a couple of parts over the years, the worst being a bearing for the steering shaft last year. That was hell to get out. No major issues with it though. Sometimes I wonder what the service life of my belt is, but it’s never given me any trouble. I’ve been in some pretty deep water and the belt has never slipped at all.

I have a 18’ Kodiak 700. Very reliable. Great bike all around. I would buy another one in a heartbeat. The belt system Yamaha has is the best around. I’m pretty sure the new bikes have a lifetime or 10yr warranty on the belt.

I have an older 660 that is a monster. Can't keep the rats from eating the wires out of it but otherwise a very reliable rig.

..

Agreed. I’m laughing because I’ve been trying to get my dad to understand this concept of comparing apples to apples for YEARS.

I have a 1996 Kodiak 400 I handed down to my son and a 2014 Grizzly 700. Only think I don’t like about the Grizzly is access to the battery and air filter. Both are under the front rack. Super solid ATV on both accounts.

I have a new 2021 Kodiak 700 EPS that I have not even done the 20 hour break in service on it yet.

I love it and got a good deal on it.

I want to trade in my Foreman on a Kodiak bad but it does everything I need and I don't think trade in will cover the full price of the Kodiak.

As an avid rider of all things ATV/UTV, Yamaha Grizzly is the most underrated machine on the market. Best handling and right amount of power. Can-Am's are definitely great but some of my friends who own one seem to be always working on it.

The only flaw my grizzly had was the starter solenoid was a real shite design. The contacts in it were so thin they would always fail. I as able to convert a Ford solenoid on mine to handle all of the current to the starter and it fixed it.

Sell your Foreman privately. You will make alot more money with the market shortage right now.

We have an old 600 that's extremely powerful and reliable. The last couple years it's been smoking like a mf'er and burning thru oil. But we just keep running it. We call it the skeeter killer.

On an unrelated topic, the original owner was George Jones. My step-dad, who passed in 2019, was related to George's wife Nancy. It was a gift to George from his daughters I believe. And when he sold it, my step-dad picked it up.
