1: there should have been a sign on the door. No sign, no problem

2: the cop is wrong and was out of line. Again no sign on the door

3: if you open carry you are kind of an a-hole. It's just as easy to CC and it makes people uneasy seeing guns. All you are doing by open carrying is trying to have a dick measuring contest. Just conceal the shite and be done with it.

What's the point of carrying? To protect yourself. Well if someone is going to rob, murder etc guess who's getting shot first. The retarded a-hole that is OCing

No, you are not an a-hole if you choose to lawfully exercise your God-given right to bear arms.

RA. If you an in some place that is getting held up and are open carrying you are getting shot first. If you instead decided to be smart, conceal and "not be an a-hole" you will be safer.

I am absolutely not saying that we shouldn't be allowed to open carry. You definitely should be. But it makes you a target.

does anyone know of an open carry person that was shot "first"

Urban myth. Kind of like saying a Beretta 92 is not good cause some one can grab your slide release and take apart that firearm before you can get a shot off.

Open carry is a deterent. Most roberies are cowards looking for an easy hit. They see a gun they wait. Most open carry people go un-noticed

You disagree that it makes you a target?

I absolutely disagree that choosing to open carry makes you an a-hole.

I read the entire Whole Foods thread on Opencarry.org and I really doubt the OP on there went into the store looking for trouble. Now there are people who fall under the "a-hole" label walking around waiting to get stopped so they can post sh*t on YouTube.

I use the word differently than some. I mean it like someone is a jerk but I also use it in the sense that it was used in the movie, "the jerk"

Not a mean jerk but a dumb jerk. I personally think it will make you a target and makes most people feel uneasy but it could also deter criminals, as previously mentioned.

I personally think you are dead wrong. But agree to disagree.

I did admit it could deter would be criminals. I guess it's based off my experiences. The only people I have known to OC are either racist or pieces of shite.

People's uneasiness at the sight of lawful open carry is a reason to open carry, not a reason not to. We need to get over the irrational fear of guns in this country and de-sensitization through exposure is the key, not less. There was a time when it was weird to not carry. We need to get back to that.

I understand the whole excercising your right deal but he had to know this was going to start shite. Just conceal and make this easier. You are doing nothing by open carrying besides drawing unnecessary attention to yourself. Especially in a store like whole foods.

So I posted this in the original thread here a few weeks ago ... I thought it was illegal to carry a gun into an establishment that has a liquor permit

I know whole foods has a package alcohol license and I am also pretty sure that they serve beer/wine to you if you eat in. Seems to me you can't carrya gun into WF

I used to think that but have heard differently. If the establishment has a bar area you cant be in there...etc.
