What is the OBs ideal dog killing caliber ?

From my experience, the most effective

#1. 12 gauge with birdshot at close range. They don't flinch.

#2. 30-06 and .270. Can work as well as the 12 gauge, or mangle one pretty badly.

#3. .22 lr. Great for subdivision or night usage at close range.

#4. Rage broadhead. I only have experience with this on a cat, but it was bad.

#5. Baseball Bat (again, cats). It's messy and primal, but stealthy.

How about dogs with mystery illnesses that you're tired of taking to the vet?

Just cut his foot off. He'll be fine.

Nope, my wife will want to have a prosthetic leg made for him. Should I take his collar off first?

When I was 10, my old man had me shoot the old mutt w/ a 38 spl.....Dug a hole, said a prayer, shead a tear.

It was time, he was in pain.

I still remember it to this day.

I have seen a dog shot in the head with a. 22 lr howling and running in circles for a good 5 minutes before it died.

12 gauge #4-6 shot and it might yelp once but it will not be running around.

Anti freeze and crushed aspirin if you want to be stealthy.

My mom learned to just go to the back of the house when she heard us shooting so she wouldn't have to see what was going on. My wife has learned this lesson also, and never asks where I'm going anymore when I walk out of the house with a gun.

I was deer hunting in a great area with tons of buck sign. Right about dawn I heard something coming behind me. Getting ready to shoot a monster when the monster turns iunto a pack of dogs. They had walked right up my scent trail and stopped right under my stand. I tried to shoo them away quietly when the apparent leader growled at me. I growled back to get them the eff gone from there and they took off. Pissed and figuring my spot was blown, I took off for another stand about 1/4 mile away. Just as I got to the stand i saw the mangy leader of the pack and a pretty good looking dog trailing me. I yelled again and the fricker started growling again. Shot both if them (308-150 gr corelokt). Didnt bother me a bit. They needed killing. Couldnt find the other 3 though.
