Anyone have any recs on a tripod for an AR? My KNS Spade Grip just showed up. While I can use my neighbors tripod, I’d rather have one of my own. He likes the most expensive stuff even when it isn’t necessary so I’d like some other recs.

Below 500. I’ve seen some around 100 but they look pretty flimsy.

Atlas PSR. I have one on a Seekins SP10 and it's solid.

Atlas PSR

Looks nice. I don’t see it in a tripod option though. Only bipod.

I’m currently using a warrior tripod with fatboy invert 60 ballhead.

I know bbvdd just ordered a tripod setup I think around that price range.

Don’t waste your money on a bog.

I called Cameraland and got a Benro Rhino tripod and head.
Not sure what the rifle grip is but it works pretty well.
I’m tall so I needed the Rhino with the center shaft.

Thanks for the options. It proves to me there are good options less than a grand.

Wait... did you get the bt46 or 47, regular height or taller one? I'm building something similar to your Seekins, never had a bipod before so I'm iffy on necessary height.

I just looked at my order history from when I ordered it from Primary Arms. It's a "BT47 PSR Tall Bipod-No Clamp" and I have it mounted to an American Defense AD-170S Short Quick Detach Base.

ATI .410 upper on this one. Will see how it runs. It has a gas adjustment knob so I’m hopeful.

hey fellas,

so i took my "honey badger at home" to the range this afternoon and used S&B subsonic ammo.

Faxon 7.5" 1:5 twist barrel

could not get it to cycle with an Aero adjustable gas block. i nearly had the gas block maxed out to open. this was suppressed/unsuppressed.

carbine buffer/spring

went to reddit and they mentioned two things.

1) lighter spring and buffer (preferably yellow sprinco spring)

2) bore out the gas port a bit more (it might be undergassed)

what would y'all do?

You sure its not blocking the port any Set screw/dimpled or clamp on? Seems like not enough gas or to heavy a buffer setup are good points to look at. I would think with the adj gas you could make it cycle even with too heavy of a buffer setup...but im not a expert by a longshot.

Just built my first rifle yesterday. I had gotten a stripped lower like a week before Sandyhook happened and all the parts I was planning to purchase vanished and everything was out of stock for a while. Ended up having a kid and moving and it sat in a safe forever. I built it up with some cheaper items to get a feel for it and will build a better gun once I know what I like and dislike.

Haven't shot the gun or anything yet, but one thing I'd love to improve is the play between the upper and lower. I realize this is cheap and have mixed upper and lower receivers, so it's expected to not be the greatest. But are there options to reduce that loose fit. I've seen where people will put ear plugs by the rear takedown pin, etc.. Is there a more legitimate option? I see some lowers have an adjustable set screw to take up the slack, but don't have that. I've seen some rubber pieces in videos, but have no clue what it's called to search for it.

Order you a dozen of these.

Might have to shave the seat a bit on the part itself, but these work.
