have any of you guys recently ordered ARs with a backlog and it delivered substantially early? I'm wondering if a 1 year wait time is realistic.

A year is nuts. I have built 2 guns in the last month. I would suggest going it yourself. Where are you ordering if you don't mind me asking?

Yes. They are interchangeable.

LaRue was my 1st choice but even before the CT murders they had a several weeks/months wait. That's why I went with a LWRC M6A2 SPR from Xtreme Guns and Ammo in Texas. XGA had several in stock and shipped quickly. I put an Aimpoint CompM3 with LaRue mount on it.
I received my gun on the same day as the CT shootings and have put about 500 rounds through it with no malfunctions. I really like the way it handles and will probably order the LWRC IC sometime in the future provided they aren't made illegal. Glad to know the wait time on LaRue as I would like to order one of those as well.

I have all my info saved on Midway. I submitted my order probably within 30 seconds of your post. When I refreshed the page to see if more was available (looking for my brother) it was gone.
