Y'all must drive like drag racers. I've gotten 14 out of mine with factory tires and 13 with super swampers.

FWIW, our controller claims the diesel trucks that require DEF and have all the new emissions shite on them are far more costly to run so we will make the switch.

My diesel never had all of the new stuff so I couldn't say.

6.2 is a great engine if you're talking Ford

What's your gripe with the DI 6.2 from GM?

DEF

Spawn of the devil.

I've been left high and dry more times than I can count with DEF trucks, and I only drove them for 6 months. That system clogs up every 32 seconds if your company doesn't have perfect maintenance on them.

If the company does, they break down every 32 minutes instead.

The problems with it have been addressed for the most part and the new stuff is reliable. It just needs to be operated properly.

True dat- over half of the tractors hauling cane from LA to FL have SCR systems now and I can say that emissions systems are the least of the worries.

Yep. We're past that now I believe, at least in the highway market.

As of last year, or maybe the year before, all emergency vehicles were required to abide by the emissions standards too. So, not that you have fire engines, ambulances, etc. all having to play by the same rules AND idling for hours on end, we will get much more reliable emissions. Not that what we have now is terrible.

New 6.7 and 6.6 generations coming out next year. I expect the HP and TQ to be bumped on both and be utterly reliable.

what year did the "better" emissions systems come out? Other than the astronomical price of a diesel, thats the only thing that has me concerned.

2007 for Dodge
2008 for Ford
No idea for GM

That was the first round of emissions. DEF was added in:

2011 for Ford.
No idea for GM or Dodge
