97 Taco still looks decent.

Engine and compartment looks shitty. Never been cleaned.

IYO, what product will leave the aluminum parts clean and not spotty and dull? I have time to dick around with this myself and would like to try my hand at it. TIA....

This is after the first application of. Black Magic cleaner and hosing it off, no scrubbing some wiping with a cloth. I'll go with the scrub brush next and post and after pic....

if it's not real greasy just use gunk.
if real greasy go to Napa and by black magic dilute to a 50:50 mixture.
don't spray a frame bushings with this stuff or they will squeak

I have an 05 Taco and since the previous owner kept it pretty immaculate when I bought I haven't done much other than pressure wash it when I wash the truck.

Pressure washer I've found is much easier to get shite out of there with ease.

Ditto what grease monkey said about the black magic.

Anything else I'll refer you to Tacomaworld.com, go to the detailing section. There's some good info in there.

I do have a pressure washer and I can get the black magic product. I am also checking out the Tacoma Site. There is not much grease in there but dirt and grime seems to be baked on. I'll post an after picture when done. I'll stay tuned to other's suggestions as well.

Sp 300 & Sp 400 from a motorcycle shop. Cleans chrome & aluminum. I don't think it would be a good idea to use a pressure washer on it. If you have a compressor, pick up a chassis sprayer and apply through that.

with the black magic you can just use a hose w sprayer.

the pressure washer might remove paint from valve covers. if over a 2500 psi.

dont let black mag sit on it fir more than 5min

Tide and a water hose will clean that up beautifully. Works every bit as good as Gunk and doesn't smell bad.

There can be a lot of salt in laundry detergent so be sure to rinse well. I've tried using Simple Green but it is for light grime. Brake cleaner works well but is harsh. If I were you I would consider that grime a protective layer.

Last time I attempted to clean the engine in my F150 I killed a coil pack. I don't clean it any more.

This, motorcycle folks keep their shite clean and have the best array of products to choose from.
Use some elbow greese, nothing is going to work great if you just spray on then spray off.
