I've got a Lews mach 1 spinning reel mounted to a 6'3 shimano clarus medium action rod. 10lb h20 mono line, 1/8 oz spot remover, using a green pumpkin trick worm. Catching plenty of fish, but I haven't felt many of them hit the worm. Its been more of noticing a difference in the feel of the successive shakes/wiggles and then reeling down and hoping something was there when I set the hook....Any thoughts?
Anything you'd change with the line/rod selection to have better feel?

That's been my norm with it, especially with bigger fish. The traditional tap-tap rarely comes into play with that rig in my experience, except maybe with little fish.

Last spring caught 3 sows over 5lbs in less than 10 minutes out of the yak and never felt a thing except for the slightest bit of pressure on the end of the line.

This time of year you don't typically get an aggressive bite. You have to be on your toes. Focus on any change in your line. If you notice the smallest change in feeling, set the hook. Hook sets are free.

You put a finger on the line or just feeling the rod?

Initially i'll have a finger on the line, but once i start having to reel to work slowly back to the boat, i pretty much abandon that.

Light bites are typical this time of year, but changing to 8lb nanofil or gliss would help a lot too. Mono is a poor conductor of hits vs a unifilament like the ones I mentioned.

Maybe try braid with a flourocarbon leader. I noticed a huge increase in sensativity switcjing to that from mono.

I have to disagree here. I have 0 issues with sensitivity on my shaky head or drop shot rigs which I fish exclusively on spinning tackle. If anything, it's the opposite. On lightweight rigs, I get a better connection on spinning tackle.

Not a bad problem to have Imo. Usually when you don't feel them it's bc they inhaled it, and a lot of times its bigger fish. If your getting bites this way I wouldn't change a thing. Know their hitting it this way and just focus, and be ready.
Changing your line may change the worms performance and they may not hit it as good.

It also could help to only use the rod to slowly drag the worm back, only use the reel to take up the slack created by dragging it.

Braid to a leader. You'll feel everything.
