No wake zones- Verret area

Specifically speaking of the Belle River/Grassy lake area
I know all the area are no wake zones now due to high water, but what about the rest of the year? Of course there are no wake signs everywhere put up by the residents, but I am fairly certain they are bullshite as the are main waterways. Is there any actual map to look up that shows true no wake zones?

We were at my in-laws camp on Magazille all weekend. Pretty much all of Magazille is a no wake zone right now. Anywhere down there with camps is a no wake zone due to the high water. Other than the high water, not many no wake zones the rest of the year. Down around Leroy's place is no wake zone year round.
We must've watched the wardens pull over 50 boats this weekend for people speeding. They are trudging through "slow" with the bow up making a bigger wake than if they were wide open and wonder why we were hollering at them and they were getting pulled over. Saw quite a few get field sobriety tested as well.

The sheriff should really ride around and pull the signs, or post a sign saying this is not a not wake zone

The Wardens didn't seem to mind people running where there were no camps but they definitely hit it hard anywhere there were camps. They pulled over some high school aged kid running a surface drive for flying through there and the warden jumped on his boat and had him take him to my in-laws camp to apologize to the them and their neighbors for tearing up the camps. Guess he was trying to teach the kid a lesson by embarrassing him.

Yeh it is a dick move for running during high water, but when you build your camp on a main navigable waterway, you should build very high or understand the consequences.

At the end of 4 Mile Bayou Rd. between Verret and Grassy Lake. Right when you get in the bayou from the lake and it makes a hard bend left and then back to the right.

I agree that some of the camps are way way too low and some flood just from the high water. But, some only flood because of the boat wakes. My in-laws camp is very high and is not going to flood, but the wakes tear up the docks bad and they are worse for tearing up the septic system and other stuff under the camp.

My uncles camp is just south of Gros Marina
The no wake signs seem to be home made. Most boats fly through just south of Gros past T-mans into Grassy lake

quote:Yeh. I thought was a true no wake. This is why I always cut down Bayou Gannevait. You cutoff the no wake zone

Although, like the other poster said, most boats cruise through once they pass Gros

Yeah they do. My wife's Aunt and Uncle's camp is the last camp at the end of the road by T-Man's and some people fly through there and some idle. I don't think it is a true no wake there normally outside of the high water times.

leroy told me the only true wake zones are around the bar, because of the gas pump, the ganivete,

Yeah, it can get very rough out there in a canoe when others decide to break the law.
