Fished the last 2 days, very slow, less than 10 keepers each day, and very crowded.
Fish had pushed off due to the cold, but we found some up shallow at times. We think Monday and Tuesday should be really good.

Took another beat down today. 3 bites, 3 keepers. Should turn on pretty come Monday if the wind will lay down. At any given time there are 10 boats around and nobody was hauling in anything.

We caught 15 today. None shallow. 6-10 foot deep. Green pumpkin colors. Few on spinner baits.

Figured it was a tough bite. They slowed way down up here on D'Arbonne.

The weather for the next 4 or 5 days looks damn near perfect. Should be really good.

D'Arbonne

My parents are close to closing on a house up there. I used to fish it all the time in high school.

Once the deal closes, I'm gonna be at the pool, the clubhouse, the shuffleboard court, ain't nobody keeping me out!

Fished half a day and caught 5. 3 were 3pounders. Caught 2 in 17 foot of water on trick worms. All others on lizards. Lizards have been the most productive for me this year. Heard people catching in 9 feet Carolina rigging brush hogs. Watermelon purple and red

I put my boat in a fished first 30 minutes, caught a 5 1/2 on a watermelon purple senko wacky rigged. Saw lots of fry so I guess the spawn is pretty much over.

Couple buddies I talked to fished today on Toledo and had 1 over. It's tough everywhere. Caddo was bad too.

No. Seen a guy clean several with eggs today.
Some were ready some were a ways off.
I think the cold front near the full moon delayed some from spawning.
Next month should be a major spawn.
Just a guess.

Most of the big ones (bass) are caught "offshore"?

I'd guess this time of year many big bass are caught on nests.
Although I heard one guy was catching big ones in 30 feet yesterday.

Why keep and eat a female bass full of eggs? They're easy to distinguish as soon as you land em?

I heard most of the success has been on ridges of 8-12ft. Have yet to put this to the test. Yesterday only 1 keeper. Ive been getting my teeth kicked in. Taking my ol man with me most of this week. Hoping to do a lot better.
