Wanted a bolt action companion for my .308 Garand and really liked the versatility of this rifle. Nice iron sights and the ability to mount a scout scope or traditional scope, lightweight, composite stock, box magazine, and nice muzzle brake. I don't hunt often but it should be plenty capable for that as well (and easier to tote than the M1). Anyone else have one of these? If so, any suggestions for glass? I'm leaning toward a scope mounted in the traditional position and thinking about a 2x7.

Awesome gun but what kind of animal is that rug made of? It's disgusting.

Shag rug, bitches. I have about as much say over that as my wife has over my guns.

Nice. I would like a nice short 308 bolt action for stalking/floating

Typical Bama fan...

But sweet rifle. Never fired a scout but heard they're quite handy.

I'd probably throw a mid-tier Leupold or Nikon on it.

Looks like a fun little gun. I am not a fan of the brake though, I don't see why it's needed.

If it were mine, I would put something like a fixed power scout scope. Maybe a 4x. I just think they're cool.

I have the stainless/gray laminate 18" barrel version. Go get a set of the polymer mags and a good bipod.

It's a .308 that weighs 6.25 lbs. Everything I've read seems to indicate it's really effective. I'll definitely experiment with and without it when I get a chance though.
