Not sure what those get but a buddy of mine got the new Colorado diesel Z71 4x4 4 door truck and is getting 25mpg... Asked what the towing rating was and he thought it was around 7600lbs. Not bad for a 4x4..

The 2.7 gets low to mid 20s, 22ish on the highway certainly. If I needed to pull 5000 lbs regularly no way I'd buy a mid size truck. The diesel option is great, but again the diesel Colorado is almost $10k more than a similar 2.7 f150.

If they stick the 2.7 in a ranger sized truck with a raptor version it will be ridiculous.

Nice looking, but I found by the time you outfit a Ranger or Canyon/Colorado with the options you want, the cost rivals a full size.

But some actually want a smaller truck and are not getting it because of cost.

Hardly smaller though. These things are 7/8ths a fullsize with 95% of the price. The old Rangers were true compact trucks compared to the F150, the new Rangers are practically the size of the 1997-2003 F150's.

Oh, didn't realize that. I need to see turning radius. My last two 1/2 tons could not turn worth a flip, and it seems like parking spaces get smaller and smaller.

I have a 2003 Ranger as my daily beater. Much easier to get around town in than my F-150. All I wanted was for Ford to update the old Ranger while keeping the compact form and offer a base 4-cylinder, the naturally aspirated V6, and small turbo diesel.

As soon as my 5th wheel sells, I will be looking for something smaller.

Rangers are currently made in South Africa, Thailand and Argentina. The size is a little smaller than the Colorado/Canyon and Tacoma.

A new Bronco based on the same chassis will be made in the same plant in Michigan.
