Getting away from the bank and fishing deep structure, I have no idea what I'm doing out there.
Start wearing my life jacket all the time when outboard is on.
Get better at left handed casting/ flipping/ pitching.
Make more trips to Lake Fork.

I would like to learn more of the spillway too... Only area I really fish now is the area around the north end of flat lake

Do y'all think we will see a change in the size limit this spring?

I need to do this also. Along with not getting drunk and running 60 across a lake with no life jacket

I haven't had the chance to get it on the water yet, but it feels better than my last Shakespeare that I lost when I flipped my yak.

I really hope so, but I don't have much faith. It seems like I hear the same shite every year with nothing ever coming from it. Throwing back 13.5" bass ALL DAY without putting anything in the icechest is frustrating as hell.

Tell me about it
I'm just worried that if they change it to 12" that in a couple years all you will catch is 11.5 " fish

Last year was my first year fishing down there. Id throw back a ton of 13" fish but id bring home 5-10 keepers. What I liked about this summer was having keepers mixed in with small ones then as it got hotter the fishing slowed way down but size picked up

I think it's a 5'2". I wanted to keep it a little shorter for floating rivers and ease of travel.

Yea I know. I don't know the answer to what needs to change, I just know I don't like it like it is.

I'll still be going a bunch regardless of what happens.

The only bass fishing I'll be doing is Lake Rosemound and maybe a friends small lake at his camp.

You can do it on the right day for sure. That place is full of bass.

I have fun every time I go. If they don't change it then it won't really hurt my feelings. I usually go for gibson for freezer filling anyway.

since Bayou Corne looks like its going to be Bama and Beer'd for the foreseeable future, I'm going to have to find some new bluegill holes

I love fishing down there but its a decent drive for me. Old River and Lake Mary are a whole of a lot closer

I think I'm writing off the north end of verret for this year.

Gonna make the spillway my main go-to freshwater place for everything.

I just have a hard time going there and not bass fishing

You fish Gibson often? I'm hunting there this weekend and will probably wet some lines.

Not nearly arse often as the spillway/verret but I usually go a good bit. Last year I didn't go much. Definitely a fun place to fish though. There's always a million people out there but they're almost always stacked up in the school board canal and there's plenty fish to be caught elsewhere.
