I am about to buy a new shotgun. I am down to the Benelli SBE 2 or the Benelli super Vinci. Anyone have any experience with either of these 2 guns?

Are you not considering the Beretta Xtrema 2?

I have a SBEII and its perty. Very nice construction, very very light recoil for 12 gauge 3.5 magnum rounds, easy to get back on the sights. Very light weight, think the site said 7 lbs. Feeds nice went all last season without a jam or misfeed. Couldn't tell you how it does with crud in the parts, I clean it after a trip and keep it away from the water although the outside will get dirty from sitting in the marsh. But speaking of cleaning it after every trip, It is extremely easy to break down and clean. I normally just q-tip the inside and the barrel and its good to go.

The other new Beretta (Xplor) feels awesome too. Really light, but supposed (haven't shot one) kick less than the Xtrema 2 with all the stuff on it.

Only thing is right now it doesn't come in camo, as least as far as I've seen.

I've shot the Xtrema 2 and I didn't find that the recoil was significantly less than my Benelli Supernova. Although the supernova is a Cadillac for a pump shotgun.

I had the supernova and just bought an xtrema 2 and the xtrema is kicks much less I think. It is also much more balanced IMO.

I bought a Vinci last December and love it. I'm kind of a lighter dude so the light weight of it makes it perfect for me. Alot of people dawg the look but I have it in max 4 and it looks badass. The 3piece modular system makes it a breeze to take apart for cleaning or whatever. I killed some ducks with it during the secod split last year and was
VERY satisfied.

Consider this why spend so much money on a shotgun, I have a Winchester that I bought 20 years ago and still use it from rabbits to squirrels to ducks. Never had a problem and never been outshot in any duck blind, I think people buy benelli or browning so they can impress other people with what they own. Now I believe long range shooting of rifles I wouldn't mind spending a little money I have a stainless steel Remington model 700 .270. Now to some people that is way too cheap for them but are you buying a benelli because it will impress others because it cost alot? My Winchester cost $275 brand new.

Trust me dude...Im not trying to impress anyone. Sounds like that's your excuse for having a cheap gun. Half was out of my pocket and half from the parents. I like to have high quality gear no matter what it is. The only time I regret it is right when I buy it. I guarantee you none of the guys I hunt with are trying to impress anyone either. It's expensive because its quality, and its cheap because its not. Haters gonna hate.

I am just saying I have been in many blinds full of expensive guns and always ended the morning killing most of their limits after hearing all them brag of their guns before the sun came up. I work with alot of guys that are the same way saying how much better their guns are and don't really know how to use them no matter what they are shooting

If you're choosing between those two then go with the SB2, i have shot both extensively and am not a fan of the Vinci.

Okay, well I don't think I shoot better than anyone and I wouldn't make assumptions solely because of my gun. I just spend the big bucks because of the quality of a product not how people will treat me based on it. I get what you're saying, but when your parents tell you they will match what you pay for, the decision becomes VERY easy.

I agree, the xtrema 2 feels very comfortable in the hands and balanced. My only disappointment with my Supernova is the weight, but I guess I was used to shooting the old Winchester model 12 I used before it. I love my benelli though.

Quality, tolerances are tighter, the guns are usually lighter, more ergonomic, less recoil and are more comfortable to shoot. Also, I know people with cheaper guns that jam sometimes with cheaper ammo, you won't have this problem with a higher quality firearm. There's absolutely nothing wrong with going cheaper than "the best" on a gun, I did it with my rifle and have no complaints at all. But these are the reasons a lot of guys spend that money on shotguns, not to impress people. Although I'm sure with some people that's the case.

You buy the gun that performs the best and feels the best to you. I have two family members that both own xtremas and a friend and none of them have ever even had a jam in their guns. I shouldered the xtrema and have shot theirs and loved it so the decision was easy when I switched from pump to automatic. It wasn't because it was expensive it was because of how it performed.

I agree tolerances are a reason to pay more for a rifle that you are shooting a bullet 300 yards to kill a deer. That accuracy may be important but in a shotgun you are throwing a bunch of bb's at a moving target I can't see tolerances mattering much.
But I do see the other guys point if your parents are going to give away money why not buy the expensive one.

I definitely wasn't directing my post at the xtrema 2, my buddy has one and it's the nicest shotgun I've ever shot . I know a few people with Remingtons who have trouble sometimes with cheap low brass shells not always ejecting.

With shotguns where accuracy won't really change with tighter tolerances, etc, the advantages if a higher quality gun are really just weight, balance, ergonomics (somewhat) and maybe reliability, although if you maintain a gun like you should that won't be an issue. IMO once you get to those guns above the $1000 mark it's all personal preference, they'll all perform amazingly. Just pick the one that feels the feels the most comfortable to you.

But the best shotgun in the world won't help someone who couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat
