Pretty cool boat. 18 footer, 115 horse. Good boat for the Hopedale Shuffle. Looks like she may be able to pull double duty as a light bay boat.

Yes. That is the sign of a stepped hull.
It's a way to make a hull more efficient or faster at higher speeds, but can have the opposite affect at lesser speeds, i.e. not on pad

Not certain. It seems that it will have little affect on draft, so the question is placement of the steps.
Most flats guys don't want to run WOT all the time, would rather cruise. To get the true performance out of a stepped hull you need the turbulence affect it creates to be kicked it at higher speeds thus more turbulence, more air under the hull, less water resistance, etc. The opposite happens at lower speeds due to the added water resistance and no air under the hull.

Sooooooooo as a flats guys, do you want to go zooming around everywhere? That's why I go back to placement of the stepps.

Interesting... and I'd like to see it in live action

Lol. I saw that, has to be a serious bow rise style prop, and NO weight up there. Not sure I've ever seen a 115 on a fishing boat do that.

Would also like to see if the stren has a pad or some dead rise.

Mack, that picture your talking about is done by trimming the boat way up, get it porpoising, and then they snap the pic to make it look like the boat is aired way out, or they create a wake with another boat out on a flat and jump that boat and snap the picture. Very few boats will air out like that.

ETA: this is what iv been told and read somewhere before, maybe it does air out this much.

Also, that thing is sweet, would love to have one.

It's almost comical they installed a poling platform on that monstrosity.
