How are these dogs with kids? Good family pets?

We had one from the time I was a kid thru high school and she was a great dog. Very playful and great around kids.

I'm sure a lot of their demeanor is in how they are raised.

Best family dog I've ever had was a dobie. I just put a deposit down for a female pup from ladobies.com. They are beautiful, smart, and great with kids.

We have a shitty mini pincher and I keep telling my wife I'm getting a dobie because I think they are awesome dogs and it would be a trip having them side by side.

The best family dog, and smartest dog I've ever owned, and I've had a lot.

She is a sweet dog but has never really taken to me. She runs from me like I'm going to beat her and barks at me like she's never met me. She likes to bark at nothing. She loves my wife though and is very protective over my daughter's.

We have had her for 18 months and is still not fully house broken.

We had a make before this one that while a bit neurotic was very obiediant and a good dog all around.

That just doesn't sound like a dog I want to be around. Why would you want a dog that goes into attack mode on everyone new it meets? How do y'all order pizza?

Most "mini" breeds are a product of breeding the larger one down to be smaller. But miniature pinschers are actually not related to full size dobermans at all. They were bred seperately from entirely different stock. Just a fun fact.

Doberman is top 5 pick for my next dog. Right now the Catahoula and death row mutt are enough to keep me busy.
