Need advice on old fiberglass boat

Any suggestions from folks with experience about putting an old boat in the water that is not been in the water for many years.
My dad had an old fiberglass boat that has sat up since he died about 25 years ago. I don't have much of my dad's stuff and think it would be really neat to try and restore to potentially get this thing back in the water. I feel okay about the mechanical aspects of the engine and boat but my bigger concern is the fiberglass hull. There are no visible holes or cracks in the fiberglass it's just been sitting up for 25 years.
Certainly not the prettiest thing to look at but a lot of sentimental value.

What kind of boat? If it has wood in the transom, I would definitely thoroughly inspect that.

Only think you can do is launch it and see what happens

If you are worried about it floating go to a launch and back the boat in the water and see if the hull leaks. If it doesn't leak on the trailer push it off and keep it close to the trailer and watch for leaks. I don't see any problem with putting it in the water to see if it leaks. Just take your time.

where has it been sitting? Outside or enclosed storage?
In most likelihood, its going to cost a lot more than the boat is worth to get it seaworthy. 30ish years old is going to have wood everywhere that needs to be replaced if it was outside and likely if stored inside as well.
Any photos? what kind of boat?

I am by no means an expert but I'd think that the 1st places that would be susceptible to leaking would be through hulls.
That would be the very 1st place that I looked. Then looking at hoses for any live well or such.
Then just move down the line. Check for transom rot, etc.
